For many problems, you may not need to see a doctor face to face. For example, for things such as rashes or moles, it may be that the doctor can carry out a thorough assessment simply by seeing a picture. For some problems therefore, our reception staff may ask that you email a picture to us- provided of course you are happy to do this.
If you have been asked to send a clinical photograph, the receptionist will ask you for your consent for the photo to be received and looked at by the clinical team. If you consent to this, it will be documented in your notes. You can then email it to
ggc.gp49248clinical@nhs.scot
Please mark the subject line of your email as “PHOTO; your name and date of birth’. It helps us greatly if the photos received are not too large, so if given the option to choose the size of the picture, please select medium- not ‘actual size’!
Your photo will be handled by a member of our clinical team. It will be saved securely to your medical file, and then immediately deleted from our email server. It will not be stored anywhere within the practice computer systems.
A doctor will then contact you to discuss your photograph.
Please only email a photo if you have spoken to reception beforehand.
